Discontinued Vehicles of 2024

Discontinued Cars of 2024

Autumn crept up on us quickly this year here in Metro Vancouver. And while many of us are making Halloween plans or are starting to compile Christmas lists, car makers across the globe are considering what stays and what goes in their 2024/2025 line-ups. Knowing what the discontinued vehicles of 2024 are can help many of us decide on whether we’ll be trading in, trading up, or simply holding onto our ride a little bit longer than intended.

As a professional car buyer that has been proudly buying cars across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island since 1998, we always try our best to keep up with current auto trend information. Knowing what vehicles will be discontinued in 2024 helps us to ensure that we are truly paying the MOST cash for cars each and every time.

Typically, when a vehicle is discontinued, it can either have an increased value, or a decreased value, depending on the reasons for discontinuation. Fortunately, Cash For Cars BC is here to help you discern if your discontinued vehicle still has value left, and if so, how much.

What Vehicles Are Being Discontinued in Canada in 2024?

It’s never easy to say goodbye to an old friend. But it is a part of life, and a farewell that is common amongst friends, families, and even vehicles. Below is the list of the discontinued vehicles of 2024 in Canada. Get them before their gone (if they aren’t already!), and sell your current ride to Cash For Cars BC.

We can help to facilitate that last quick purchase while there’s still time by offering you the MOST cash for cars in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and on Vancouver Island. We buy vehicles from $100 – $100,000+, regardless of age or condition. Which makes us your best bet to get out of your dreams, and into that car of your dreams!

1. The Chevrolet Camaro

Cash for cars that are discontinued

One of the longest running American muscle cars will be leaving the stage at the end of this year, with no announced successor.

The Chevrolet Camaro has been a fan-favourite across the globe since it first entered the automotive world in 1966. Chevrolet originally introduced the Camaro in order to compete with the incredibly popular Ford Mustang.

Over the years, there have been many redesigns of the vehicle, many varying trims, upgrades, and updated technology. However, with rising gas prices and consumers ever moving towards hybrids and EVs, as well as more fuel-smart vehicles, the Camaro that we all know and love doesn’t have a place in today’s world.

While it is sad that the Camaro is retiring, there are good things that come when classic vehicles are discontinued. They become more valuable. If you own a classic Chevrolet Camaro vehicle of any model or year, sell it to Cash For Cars BC to get the MOST cash for it, even before its retirement. NOBODY Pays More!

2. Nissan GT-R

sell my car

The very last month of production for the Nissan GT-R will be wrapping up at the end of October 2024 (this month). After 17 years of producing this vehicle, Nissan has decided to retired the GT-R. However, there will be two special edition models available for purchase until the end of 2024.

The Takumi Edition and the Skyline Edition will be available to purchase until the end of the year, or while supplies last. And considering that Nissan only made 200 copies of each, we highly suspect that they will be sold out before the year is up.

Owning a Nissan GT-R may now put you in an even better position than you thought possible to resell it for a major payout. If you are considering selling a Nissan GT-R of any year, consider Cash For Cars BC. We offer the MOST cash for Nissan vehicles (not just the GT-R) and can buy your vehicle in as little as 20 minutes.

3. Mini Clubman

Sell your car

While the Mini Cooper and Mini Clubman were all the rage when they were first introduced, times have changed. Consumer reports over the years reflect poor engine construction on the Cooper and Clubman, resulting in premature engine failure.

Due to the frequent reports and complaints about various engine and transmission issues on these cars, Mini has decided to cease further production on the Clubman, their lesser selling model. In fact, as a professional car buyer who also purchases scrap cars, we buy more Mini Coopers and Clubman’s as scrap than we do as re-sellable vehicles.

If you’ve fallen victim to the notorious Mini engine and would like to scrap your car, give us a call. We provide free scrap car removal services throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Plus, we pay the MOST cash for scrap cars like Mini’s too!

4. Volvo S60

Cash for Cars BC in Vancouver

If you’ve seen any 2024 Volvo S60’s cruising down the street, take note of them, as they are the last ones you’ll see going forward.

The Volvo S60 ceased production in June of this year, and will be essentially replaced with a new EV sport utility vehicle. As demographics across the Lower Mainland (and everywhere else in North America) show that consumers lean more towards SUVs that run on clean energy, many automakers are finding that their old sedans don’t fit the bill for what a family is looking for in today’s market. And the S60 is one of them.

But don’t worry, Volvo vehicles are built to last and have a timeless style to them. Which means if you were lucky enough to purchase one of the last 2024 models of the Volvo S60, you’ll be able to ride in style for a long, long time.

5. Subaru Legacy

Discontinued Vehicles of 2024 Subaru Legacy

It’s hard to believe that Subaru would be discontinuing any of their vehicles, as much like Volvo’s, they are built to last. Moreover, Subaru vehicles have an incredible safety rating, offer 4WD capabilities on virtually every model, and are also timeless in their style and design.

However, much like anything in this world, everything has an expiration date. And the Subaru Legacy’s date is this fall of 2024. Once again, due to the decline of consumer demand for a family sedan, Subaru has decided to boost sales of the Crosstrek, Outback, Ascent, Forester, and their sportier model passenger cars. This leaves the Legacy in the dust as of 2024.

If you own a Subaru Legacy of any year and would like to sell it, now is the time. With its discontinuation, there will be a higher demand for the Legacy amongst avid Subaru lovers everywhere. And Cash For Cars BC can get you the MOST cash for it, whenever you decide to sell.

6. Nissan Titan

Cash for Discontinued Vehicles

Another Nissan makes it to the discontinued vehicles of 2024 list, but this one is a truck. A Titan, in fact.

The sun is setting this year on the Nissan Titan due to much more eco-friendly rivals in the market. As well as other trucks in its class that boast better fuel economy and more towing capacity.

The full-sized pick-up, while stylish and definitely full-sized, can’t stack up to big name trucks like Ford and Dodge that offer similar stylings, with a lower price tag, and better fuel-economy or EV options. Hence why Nissan decided to close the doors on the Titan’s production after another year of sales dropped drastically.

7. Chevrolet Malibu

Chevy Malibu

In one more month, the Chevy Malibu will be joining its colleague, the Camaro, in the retirement home for cars. You have probably already noticed a trend that sedans are simply not as popular as they once were, no matter how much tenure they have in the market.

Much like the Camaro, an EV version of the Malibu is not yet being discussed, and the current production line is being handed over to the second-generation Chevrolet Bolt. As of November of this year, the Malibu will no longer be produced. And if you’re a fan and plan to patiently wait for an EV version to return, you may be waiting indefinitely.

8. The Ford Edge

Ford SUV

Amongst all this talk of “consumers only want SUVs now”, the Ford Edge is an SUV, but is one that won’t be seen in the market as of this year.

Unlike the other brand names that have ceased production due to consumer demand for more SUVs and crossovers versus sedans, the Ford Edge is being discontinued because Ford plans to have their entire line-up become entirely electric.

There is talk of an EV version of the Edge coming at a later time, but nothing is set in stone. And since there are many other more practical Ford SUVs to choose from with better fuel-economy or EV options, the Edge simply can’t keep up to its sister vehicles.

If you are a Ford fanatic and want to snap up your last chance to own an original Ford Edge, call Cash For Cars BC to get the MOST cash for your current car, truck, SUV, van, or motorcycle. We love buying Ford vehicles of any model or year, and in any condition. Plus, we come to you and NOBODY Pays More!

9. Mitsubishi Mirage

sell my car

What is one of the cheapest vehicles on the market today, the Mitsubishi Mirage has promptly been axed from the 2025 line-up.

Most consumers want a vehicle that has increased storage capacity, ample seating, great gas mileage, and offers a comfortable ride. The Mirage simply doesn’t offer all of the things that Vancouverites need in today’s world. Additionally, there are so many other vehicles that do, and at a reasonable price point.

Numbers don’t lie and the Mirage’s sales figures have been in a downward spiral for the past few years. The cost to produce this vehicle doesn’t align with its overall sales, so Mitsubishi decided to halt production to allow for a newer generation of vehicle to be produced. One that offers better fuel economy or runs on clean energy. If you were thinking about buying a Mirage this year, get on it because it’s your last chance.

10. Ram 1500 TRX

Ram TRX

Production has already stopped on the Ram 1500 TRX model, as the company pulled the plug earlier this year. However, you can still find them on many new car dealerships lots until the end of 2024.

With the introduction of EV trucks like the Ford Lightning, the Ram TRX just can’t stack up against everything else that’s on the market. It’s gas-guzzling nature contradicts what consumers what, even in a truck, these days, and sales have continued to dwindle. Thus, why Ram halted production on this model of the 1500.

Although people are moving towards clean energy vehicles, including EV trucks, Cash For Cars BC is ALWAYS looking for gas-powered trucks, including the TRX. Give us a call today and find out what your Ram truck is worth. You might be pleasantly surprised!

11. Jaguar F-Type

Sell your discontinued car

For a brand made famous by producing sports cars, Jaguar has now decided to end production of its last sports car, the Jaguar F-Type, after 75 years of making sports cars.

While there are many Jaguar enthusiasts across Canada, the U.S., and of course, the globe, the F-Type can’t keep up with the constant shifts in the sports car market. Especially with a vehicle that doesn’t have an electric option.

Jaguars have always been worth a lot more money than many other sports cars and luxury SUVs on the market today. However, with the F-Type heading into retirement, anyone who owns one will be able to fetch a pretty penny for it now, more than ever.

12. Maserati Ghibli

Cash for cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans

It seems that aside from the fact that many automakers are chopping sedans because of reduced demand. However, they are also doing so to make room for new electric vehicles that are being introduced to their line-up. Which is exactly the case with the Maserati Ghibli.

Most car makers try to avoid expansion of their production line unless they are doing a complete redesign, like switching their entire line-up from gasoline to electric. Which is why usually they discontinue vehicles to be able to produce a new one in the most cost-effective way possible.

The Maserati Ghibli is being axed to make room for the Quattroporte, which is naturally, an EV. If you’ve been saving up for Maserati Ghibli, you’ll need to make your move now or never. By the end of the year, it will be gone indefinitely.
